Headphones are ideal in most settings but there are times when you would like to share the ‘atmosphere’ with others. something like the Nyne NB-250 definitely fits the bill. It’s portable, supports Bluetooth connections and houses a built-in, rechargeable battery. Revelry can move seamlessly from the car to the beach without a hiccup… unless your music source decides to hit the shower.
Nyne’s NB-250 sports a a metal mesh covering the dual 2.25-inch full range drivers. The control panel and the rear has a smooth rubberised finish making it easy to grip too. since the panel’s buttons are also coated with the same material, this part of the speaker is splash-proof. Now you can have a go at the buttons even if you are wet or sweaty. A very practical carry-along case with a shoulder strap is included with the speaker too. The buttons align with the symbols on the case, so you don’t even need to take it out of this shell.
The kickstand conceals the 3.5mm jack, direct mains input and a UsB port if a smartphone needs to be charged. It can also be used with the carry case on. The battery is rated to last ten hours, which is pretty much what we got. The speaker turned out to be quite loud for its size and it did quite well across different music genres. But it lacks depth and starts losing its bearings at very high volumes. That said, it’s a still a great device to jumpstart an evening. Next time you pack, strap the NB-250 on.
