Wire Free Storage
Wireless storage usually means slow transfers and an insane amount of setup time for the network, browser, PC, and wireless hard disk. Not anymore with the Seagate Wireless Plus. Admittedly, when it came into PC.com’s Tested Labs, I was doubtful. That all changed the minute I opened the box.
MEANS BUSINESS
Out of the two-layer box, the Seagate Wireless Plus is nothing like the packaging image. Slim, sleek, elegant and tough are the words it demands for when I looked at the device. The minimalistic styling is slightly marred (or complementary to some) by the power button, charging port, and indicator lights. And for those wondering how the Wireless Plus connects to the PC, well, one quick tug on the top end latch under

the indicator lights will reveal SATA type data and power ports, which can be linked via bridge cable that links to a USB 3.0 connector.
“PLUG” AND PLAY
In terms of usability, the Wireless Plus is a true work of convenience. One quick app download on my smart device, some fast WiFi switching and I’m all set to stream data out of the hard disk on my phone. Videos and music play smoothly thanks to the dedicated wireless-N frequency it uses between devices. PC users can also access the HDD wirelessly via web browser. Data transfers - pictures, simple media backup, and the like - are fine but huge HD recordings and even HD movie transfers are a no-no! Do take note, it doesn’t promise 10 hours of power as stated on paper and lasted, at most, six to seven.
