Samsung shows off its latest audio and visual products

Samsung Malaysia Electronics introduced its new Smart TV line-up with fresh and updated features last month. Furthermore, the Korean company also showcased its digital audio line-up with new devices that are designed to turn any home entertainment setup into an optimal sound environment with a number of wireless connectivity enhancements.

“Malaysian consumers are demanding more from their televisions and audio visual products in order to achieve the ultimate home entertainment experience. We’re offering a brand new audio visual experience with Smart Interaction, which allow users to seamlessly interact with their TV using motion and voice control, while the Smart Evolution Kit provides the Samsung Smart TVs a form of step-up evolution, enabling users to enjoy the latest Smart TV technologies without purchasing a new TV unit,” says Kwon Jae Hoon, Managing Director of Samsung Electronics Malaysia.

First to show up on stage is the Samsung Smart LED TV F8000. The thin profile with its Arc stand is aimed to make the TV appear look like it is floating in the air. Additionally, the F8000 is among Samsung’s first line of Smart TV equipped with Intelligent Viewing, which creates an optimised picture quality depending on the type of content being displayed. The TV, which has a quad-core processor powering it, will be available in Q3 this year and comes in 55in and 65in screen sizes.

Next on the list is the Korean manufacturer’s Smart Plasma TV F8500. Using a Super Contrast Panel, Samsung claims the TV is able to produce incredible brightness and contrast, delivering supreme image outputs. Pairing the panel with Real Black Pro filter, the plasma TV also offers better black levels in bright rooms.

Interestingly, Samsung also previewed its S9 Ultra HD (UHD) TV. It offers sizes of up to 110in with Ultra High-Definition resolution. The S9 can upscale HD or full HD content to UHD quality so as to fit its larger display size. Also powered with a quad-core processor, the UHD TV offers a three- way 2.2 channel speaker platform that is capable of producing 120Watt sound.

As for users who want to stay up-to-date with the latest TV tech they need only look for the Smart Evolution Kit, which is arriving later this year. Available for the Series 7, 8 and 9 2012 Smart TVs, it offers both software and hardware updates that include access to the 2013 Smart Hub and other Smart features. This also includes upgrading the set’s dual-core processor to a quad-core.

Visual performance aside, Samsung’s Blu- ray Home Entertainment System HT-F9750W is Samsung’s latest in audio equipment. The entertainment system allows users to run multiple apps at once, providing easier access to the latest Smart Hub and AllShare features. Aside from this, there is also Samsung BD-F7500 Blu-ray player that is capable of upgrading non-Samsung Smart TVs into the company’s Smart TV via software
