Big Performance from a Mini Card

Something that before is only possible for big cards is now available to anyone with small cases. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 is the chipset that you get if you want some intense graphic power, without the money for a GTX 680. Of course the question for people with small cases is: “Why we only have access to lower-to-mid range graphics cards?” Now ASUS is saying that gamers who want a small case can rejoice for it has come out with the perfect mid-to-high-end range card, called the GTX 670 Mini.
IT IS SMALL!
For a graphics card that is supposed to be in the performance gaming class, the size is considerably SMALL. To create an easy to understand comparison, the card is barely longer than the PCI-E slot that it is installed in. ASUS managed to fit the card into a small case because of their new cooling system, which still utilises the brand’s renowned heatpipes but has kept it to a dual-slot size instead of the usual triple slot we are currently familiar with. Ingenious.
STILL A BEAST
While it may look cute and cuddly (for a graphics card) you must be made aware that this is still a serious GPU in your hands. With 2GB of GDDR5 RAM, you know your games will be as smooth as silk - even at high resolution settings. It also comes with enough ports to make your multi- display setup a reality...all of this from something the size of a paperback novel.
MULTI-PORT WONDER
For people in the know, the GTX 670 DirectCU Mini comes with two DVI ports, one HDMI and a single DisplayPort for when you need to attach two or more displays to your computer. It is also SLI-ready so you can attach two or more cards to make your system extremely explosive, like how a dragon breathes fire in a Simcity simulation (OK maybe not, but you get what I mean). It also needs an 8 pin power instead of a 6 pin; so make sure your power supply unit can meet the necessary power requirements for your graphics needs.
GAMING BABY!
We set up the card in our test system and ran a couple of benchmarks along with a couple of games to see how the card performs. With 3DMark11, it managed to score a whopping P8859 marks. We also ran two games to see how good the card is - Batman: Arkham City and also Bioshock Infinite. The former, we managed to get an almost constant 60fps while the later we saw a fluctuation between 55-60 fps.
If you are into Mini ITX concepts and want to get the best graphics you can produce, get this card. Seriously.
