Canon Quality
It is increasingly difficult to stand out in the field of cameras, particularly when it is about generating hype for a new model. Canon found something. It works and there is nothing to worry about.
THE GIMMICK
How does one give people a good camera while adding a feature that really stands out from the pack? Apparently the answer is to fit a 50x optical zoom, which is the longest currently available in any digital camera. This is a claim that might stand for quite a bit. One might just ask what a person with a digital camera would do with such a long zoom capability. One may also be an unimaginative troglodyte. The ability to focus on an object from a great distance makes the Powershot SX50 HS a brilliant camera to take on holidays, especially when the great outdoors are concerned. As this camera is aimed at the amateur crowd, there is a need for some sort of electronic assist for taking pictures. The lack of weight on the camera can affect shots taken by those with less than steady hands. Fortunately, Canon’s optical image stabilisation system is more than adequate at compensating for a shaky stance.
PULLING THE STRINGS
Being able to manipulate controls quickly and comfortably factor into consumer’s satisfaction with any product. Canon is no stranger to this. In fact, they have simply maintained the layout of they have always kept to, which is just fine. The build quality is what one comes to expect from one of the most popular camera manufacturers. The viewfinder should also sit well with photographers who prefer the traditional way of taking pictures. This is also known as the right way.
I MAY HAVE TAKEN SOME PICTURES
Shooting photographs with the SX50 HS is unsurprisingly uncomplicated. Built in are a number of corrections and assists that make it difficult to botch a photograph. More experienced photographers will not be disappointed by the colour reproduction and depth of field allowed by the sensor. Eventhough, as expected, some details are lost when using the digital zoom function.
